Hi guys,

I'm a little behind on current motherboard chipsets so please bare with me.

I've just ordered an MSI Z68A-GD55-G3 for my new build and I'm not quite sure which options to turn on (ie: Lucid Virtue, Smart Response) and what drivers to use. My understanding of each technology is:

Lucid Virtue: Uses the on-board GPU to speed up video encoding and you also plug your DVI/VGA/HDMI cable in to the on-board graphics port and it only enables the add-in graphics card when required.

Smart Response: Uses your SSD as a cache for your mechanical hard drives.

If I've got any of this wrong please correct me.

In regards to Smart Response, I'd like to keep my SSD as a plain-and-simple SSD - my mechanical hard drive is used purely for storage so I don't really need this turned on.

So I guess what I'm asking is: What do I need to turn on or off, and which drivers do I install? Back in the day (:D) I simply installed Chipset, GPU, Sound and NIC drivers and away you go - I'm totally baffled by all the new options!

Thanks guys,

Kona
