Good Morning All.

I've just finished a week of Revision for my three-hour Intelligent Agents exam today (!) at 1400BST.

i have come to the conclusion that anyone who works in the field of AI or IA technology is not just a mere genius, but a walking god, omniscient in their knowledge of terminology and otherwise irrelevant frippery.
They probably look quite a lot like this:

the IA terminology and syntax is so pedantic, inconsistent, complex and overall "designed by committee" (because it was) that I'm having very very real difficulty remembering it all.

The good news is, even if i get the minimum required to pass the module for the exam-requirement (35%) i'll still endup with a pass for the module as well because I've done relatively well in the coursework.
Overall though, this module has been rather hateful, and the worst thing is, it's almost completely unrelated to the rest of my Degree.

I'm an electrical engineer, and i was going to do a module on Multimedia-technology (the signals and electrical technology behind multimedia devices, as opposed to "media studies"), but it was cancelled by the Uni and i was forced to do this instead.

I'm off to sleep now, please wish me luck everyone :)

Is this ... is this even a thing?

is what even a thing? Intelligent Agents? yes, it's the subject of Artificial intelligence and intelligent Agents, self-contained programs capable of operating autonomously.

and it's hateful. :p

It's rare that I don't understand what someone is talking about but also feel compassion for what they're going through.

This, however, is one of those cases.

Good luck man :)

Thanks Man :)

Thanks all for your encouragement.

The exam went surprisingly well, fortunately everything i revised was in the exam (don't ask!), It was a hell of a slog, but three hours and twelve pages of bumpf later and it was done.

i'm pretty confident that it went well. hopefully I'll know soon enough.
My Hand is still ruined though :p :D

Lecturers should be forced to take their own exams, just so how much writing in involved. My hand has still never recovered

*Hand spasm.

i agree completely. it's also very annoying that the questions in the exam were both badly phrased (One of the lecturer's isn't a native english speaker - somewhat excusable) but also contained typos and or actual errors.

Grammatical errors in an arts-based exam are excusable, but in a technical exam they're downright unacceptable
