intelligent picture resizing

I have a digital phote frame with a resolution of 800 x 480 (also my netbook 1024 x 600)

Are there any apps that will resize a batch of photos to fit, without cropping or changing the aspect ratio?
eg
portrait original res. 1200 x 1600 -> new res. 360 x 480
(wide) landscape original res. 3200 x 1600 -> new res. 800 x 400

The photo frame will automatically fit photos, but I want to maximise the number of photos stored.

Loads can do it... but Irfanview batch resizes photos the quickest and easiest for me. It's a good app.

hmm..maybe I'll need to dig a little deeper into PSP. AFAIK it will batch convert to one fixed size, but it won't intelligently look at the AR/resolution and convert to fit best vertically or horizontally

Not all my photos are the same resolution.

Will Irfanview do this?

Oh sorry you want a program that will re-size based on pictures, even if they are different resolutions? I misread. I don't think any do this... none that I know of anyway.

But I can't see it mattering as long as you want them all to go to the same fixed-sixe photo frame.
