Would anybody be up for some prove your skills in what ever language, method, style and deployment platform competition madness? I have no idea quite what form this would take, but it could be fun :)

Sounds good, count me in, ive been looking for something to motivate me back into programming :p i would do it more for fun then to prove my very little skills :p

This sounds good and hopefully we can learn from the experianced people on here how to do it right. rather than the amount of hacks i have to put in my stuff to get it to work

Nice idea, id be up for it :)

Not sure how you could judge it, maybe it could be an efficiency test and measure the execution time of each submission.

maybe you could make it into a "jam" or code jam (I think that's what it's called lol).

Basically give a theme, then let people build something in a specified amount of time based on that theme. Events like Gamecity do this kind of thing with games, they have a game-based theme and they let any one who enters use what ever language they're happy with and I think what ever assets they like to build said game in the allotted time.

Not sure how you'd judge it but I would imagine there will be some really good entries :)
