Inter i7 build. £1100

If you can stretch to an extra £100, I would go for this....

If you haven't got the extra £100 then stick with the 4870X2.

Read some good reviews with that board.
I like the Asus P6T Deluxe. doe's that have 3-Way SLI & Quad-GPU CrossFireX Support like the PT6 ?

Similar spec to mine though I went for a simple 4870 1GB and put extra money into the case and a dell 27" monitor.
Well i have a 22" playing games @ 1600x, 1900x. i like everything maxed up
(i like things to look good so you can injoy it more) ;)
This is, i only have windows 32bit, and that only shows as 3G in windows.
Not sure if it still uses more.
If so, do you think i said go the 1G mark on the card and get 6G of ram ?
What kind of res do you play games at ? or are you not a gamer. :D

Ps. do you have the Lian Li Armorsuit PC-P60B case ?
Cheers

This look better below.
I pushed 100 more for the ram, as the ATI can do the job :) not sure how much difference it would make, or if it's that noticeable,
Not sure what cooler, the Noctua, or the true with 2 of them nutty fans :DSo that ram work on vista32bit ? will it use it ?

Thanks a lot

the noctua would be better methinks anyway but that thermaltake one you have is the wrong socket so dont buy that..

I am running at 1900x1200 and so far the games I have played, I have had no problems with and they include FM2009, COD:WAW, L4D, Empire TW Demo, Company of Heroes and Dawn of War 2

I am happy to stay with a 4870 1GB at the mo, might upgrade to a 4870x2 when the prices come down and go for a soundcard rather than crossfire.

No, I have the Coolermaster ATCS Case :) thats where me extra money went, and I could not be happier tbh.

Nice :)
Any tips i should look out for with the board when building.
This will be my first Intel ;) Would this have a program with it for overclocking ? or is there a good program you can down load ?
I used to go into the bios on my old DFI board.
not sure how different this system will be.
I got loads of games i can't play, coz they run crap on my old system.
So hopefuly them days are gone :D

Only tip I have is to be careful with the CMOS battery when putting the mobo into the case and lining up with the rear backplate as the battery is right on the corner of the mobo and you could accidentally push it!

Other than that Its a lovely board so enjoy yer build!
