Ive had this sign pop up every so often for the past few days. It says "a program running on this computer is trying to display a message"... "The program might need information form you or your permission to complete a task"
It appears for less than a second so i cannot click "view message" or "show program details". The only updates i have done are installing / updating avast, Emisoft anti malware, Microsoft VisualC++ UPDATE, and Mozilla 12

1) Is this malware/virus related? i have had a POSSIBLE rootkit found from Avast but the Avast team said it was a false positive. Also note that the message has a typo error it says "the program might need information FORM you" instead of FROM

2) Any way to figure out what program is causing it. I suspect event vewer might help but i have little experince with it thus dont know where/how to troubleshoot this. Any help is appreciated.

have you done a boot scan with avast? if not try that , and then there is another malware program but for the life of me i cant remember the name, some one else should know it :)

sounds like a virus to me.

Hi i have done a boot time scan as well as safe mode and normal full scans with Avast, Malwerebytes, windows defender and Emisoft malware fighter ALL come back clean which makes me think the root kit was a false posative but this issue is making me second guess that

Anyone know how to get more info about what program is casuing it; perahps via event viewer?
