Intercom thread

I need a Intercom after yesterday fitting my House gates on the drive.

Its 100m run from the gates to the house. I would ideally like a camera too.That I can view on my TV?

I have ran an electric cable up to the posts,underground , and a Cat6 cable this runs back to the house study where the 24 Port network switch is.

Any ideas or experts in this field that can help me?

Ideally I would like to fit it myself has I have done most of the work lol fitting the cables.

IP camera to your htpc sounds like the best bet. Not sure about the intercom though.

Cisco IP phone can do this,
really you should research intercom systems before laying cable

100m is on the edge of what will run for Cat5e / Cat6, so I wouldn't expect cheap tat would be up to the job.

In time. I haven't fitted the motors to the gates yet. Maybe next year

All I need for now is to see and hear who is on the other side and maybe chat to them.

In reality its just under 90M as I have had the posts moved back down the drive 10M

Power and Cat is enough surely? Cat can be used for data and analogue signals.
