And i'm not talking about the colour green :-)

I've been asked to build a machine that's as energy efficient as possible, has anyone else had to do this ? does anyone one have any ideas ?

The machine only needs a fairly low spec, as it's going to replace a old Athlon XP based machine and performance of that is not an issue.

There are various "green" PSU's around Antec Earthwatts/Akasa Green power. But power is still required by the components in the machine, and I'm finding it very hard to find power requirements for the actual hardware.

There seem to be a couple of "Green" disks around WD and Hitachi have models but the actual power requirements seem very hard to find.

But even harder are what motherboard and CPU combination ?

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Cheers ... Andy

Google VeryPC, give them a call, and ask for a detailed spec, as you're considering purchasing. Then go and buy the bits and build yourself.

Mike,

I tried that and they sent me a "Technical Spec" but it didn't name any components and they weren't prepared to name them when i spoke to sales on the phone..
