I have a tagan 580watt PSU which has a downwards extraction fan but I have a new case (Antec 900 gaming case) But the PSU is at the bottom of the case with the fan pointing downwards.

I have just noticed it is getting really loud cause its overheating. Is there anything i can do to change this? any modification to the case? Drill holes?

Need ideas!!!

cheers

I could try turning it upside down, not sure if it will work, I am going to take everything out of the case and cut out a square and raise the PC.

But for the time being, Would a 12cm fan pointing Inwards be any use? or should it face outwards ?

and you got £85k was it?

Yup ;)

there isnt a fan at the back though and its making quite a bit of noise...

I did'nt say there was ;) , my Enermax 620 is the same design, I have it in a P180 at the bottom also so it has the intake fan facing the bottom but there is a small gap, enougth to allow the PSU to draw air into it's self, even though it does'nt have a fan at the back it should still extrat the air out from there, I did use to have an old Tagan 480 in my P180 and found it got very hot also, never caused any problems though, in the end I changed to the Enermax 620 and it barely gets warm, one thing though, when my Tagan 480 got hot I could still barely hear it.

Yeh i just went from a 480watt tagan to the 580watt, Im just worried that all i can hear is the PSU right now. It feels warm to touch and the bottom of the case is also quite hot!

Gonna wire up a 120mm fan ;)

Is it possible to have the PSU upside down in the p180
