I catestrophically lost some very important data/work on my drive and decided to use a basic restoration app called photo-recovery genius. I managed to recover one or two of my most prized pieces of artwork out of about six to 8. Because I do a lot of photography as well, this added to the amount of recoverd files. In total, after the scan, there were 56,000 images to look at. It took me three days to look at the files and it gave me the most excruciating headache I have ever had which lasted for over a week. Painkillers were useless.
Anyhow, what I would like to know is whether all recovery software is equal as there are still a few unrecovered images I would like to get back. Not the photographs but my artwork. Also, photorecovery genius would hold all the recovered images in a virtual hard drive and quite often run out of space due to the sheer volume.
