EA is horrible at sports games,i havent enjoyed them since the early ps1 days, and it seems that most of us and other gamers feel the exact same way,so the real question is,since everyone prefer 2k sports over ea,or atleast most do,why is EA so popular and successful?

Suffice it to say, most people in the thread agreed and don't buy said games from EA.

Shows how content in forums doesn't neccesarily reflect the real world. Hence lots of posts in forums about faulty 360s, doesn't neccesarily mean there are hundreds of thousands of faulty 360s.

Winna \o/

Unfortuntely some people on forums cant see this, and take everything they read as Gospel.

(in a bizarre way I guess thats what I'm doing here :p)

Very true and i'm sure the ps3 will have its own share of problems too. Can't wait to see what cooling that thing will need.

In regards to EA sports games, I don't agree they are all rubbish. Fight Night has already established itself as a very accomplished and revolutionary boxing game and Madden 2005 was simply superb.

Although I do agree the less said about fifa and Madden 06 the better.

I don't really see why its an issue if people think the 360 is a bit shoddy quality wise.

Personally i'm sticking to my- people I know with 360's:People I know who've had a problem ratio... which tells me the 360 isn't actually up to scratch quality wise.

Yes I suppose the best way is with people you know. That said I picked up xbox 360 magazine in the supermarket today and they mention the hardware issues troubling the console. For them to mention it, it must be a wide issue?

That said I had another fruitless day trying to get one. **** loads of cores in stock at game no premiums. When I phoned my second game store they mentioned no one wanting the cores.

I suppose all those cores will come in handy when we are changing out of warranty duffers ;)

I'm sticking to my 100% of people I know with xbox 360s have fully working versions and have never had a blip let alone a fault.

xbox 360 must be fault free which is remarkable for any form of electronics.

360 reliability

Unfortunately my Xbox360 is awaiting DHL to collect it in the morning, dreaded red lights came on the front and stopped working. Bought 2nd December.

Speaking to Microsoft, to me it seems that one of the manufacturers in China had not got a good quality control in place in the rush to produce them for the launch.

The DHL chap I spoke to said he would'nt buy a XBOX360 due to how many returns he's dealt with, he's waiting for a PS3!

Anyway I'm still happy with my choice, just wished it was working now.

Glad it gone faulty now instead of March when some good games are due out!! :)

Ive been reading the xbox forums, and theres complaining popping up on there to, some ppl on their 3rd machines, one guy has refused a 4th!!.

They seem to be dropping like flies now, mines still working after a couple of weeks, but now im thinking when is it gona pack up, as i feel its only a matter of time now at this rate, its not looking good now, but it does seem that its the early ones, and mine was made on the 3rd of January, so i just hope im lucky, but as i said at the rate their going, im still expecting it to go.

I had the same mate, once MS actually sorted out the coffin and the correct courier it only took a few days.

However on your first point there, you need to remember that you are talking to a 1st line helpdesk, and from experience of being a helpdesk person we dont actually know a lot about what is going on but like to sympathise with customers without selling out our employers...its part of the spiel TBH and helps pacify a would be ranter as it puts the blame at someone elses door ;)

The DHL man would be dealing with a lot of returns TBH, MS use DHL exclusively for picking them up and given that very few people use courier pick up from home via this sort of service its bound to seem disprotionate to his usual daily job.

Mine is the only 360 I know of personally speaking that has failed out of a total of five bought by friends and family, however mine is the only one which is also from release date amongst them so we will see how they go on.

I think the faulty thing is over hyped i dont know anyone who has had a single problem with their 360s and thats around 12 of my close friends

I know some people are having problems i dont deny this but to be honest i think because of the hype around the 360 it seams wosre then it really is

And i am sure that the return rate is no worse the any other complex new electronic device

If you look at all the big brand releases they all have their problems but nothing that stops them selling loads of their goods

Sony PS2 lazer problems etc
Apple Ipod nano issues
Nokia many software problems on lots of phones

But sony still hold the games market Apple the MP3 market and nokia the mobile phone market ?

On the scale of things its really not that big a deal

I guess its quite simlar to when the radeons all started busting back in the 9800 era, it seemed like every other one was broken but really people only posted to whinge it was broken never to say 'yes its stil working'
