well this gives me the performance i need clocked straight to 5.8ghz and then i did some motherboard pci 2.0 voltmodding on my asus a8v deluxe sli which gives me the difference o the matrix generator which is gd 1!

I am amazed how cool this chip runs the overclocking head room is definitely there.

mines runs most times idle at 13C and 24C when the cpu is busy, eg me playing a game, thats with air cooling of Asus Artic Square with Artic Silver


Hmm 5.8 Ghz ... 13C on air....

Maybe OC should start censoring reviews

bahaha - bet he's on a P5K - they don't report the CPU temps properly. Mine idles at 14-15C when room temp is 25 - Intels new refridgeration chips - clever!

What're you lads on about? My E6850 is at 8Ghz PASSIVELY cooled and only 5C idle and 16C load!... either that or i smoked too much chronic this morning. And my mobo is modded to PCI v5.2 none of that 2.0 old hat.

mine drops to the minus figures and it's only passively cooled

The ExWife moan at me she say cabue too short for making internet work. I say I buy new cabul but she say we must take cow to market before we buy. Now cable arrive and it very nice i like the grey yes? Connect to your phone to browse internet on your cordless. I like the man on the phone at overclockers he my friend. mine runs @ 26 idle and 32 whilst playing games thsi is with the stock cooler !!! i have checked with speedfan,tat,pc probe ai booster and they all read the same temp !!! this is on a striker extreme board

It's a G0 stepping cpu though, the temps are reported wrong on these...

so whats the average temp of these chips then my case is now 23 and my chip is 26 ! sounds ok 2 me

I got 4GB on quiet air (wont run that though till more cooling), what he use to cool at 5.8GB lol.

I think mines runs stock @ 24C idle in coolish room with AMB 17-18C with Noctua NH-U12F but Its not been under 3.6GB since day 1.

Idle is now 33C in AMB 18C with all fans slowed (basically cant hear them), only speed up when gaming.

New Beta Speedfan supports these mobos now, Temp is 33C, core 1 28C, core 2 28C.
