Interesting trackback on my Wordpress blog, possible XSS?

On the very first post of my blog, someone has entered the following trackback:

The formatting of the post leads me to believe that it's trying to 'break in' to an SQL statement. I've deleted it from the blog regardless, but any ideas what this is up to?

Do many of you keep trackbacks on? What purpose do they serve?

I keep mine on but never knew what they do.

Googling the name of the poster brings up a tonne of results. I don't see the point of the injection though, but I don't want to run it and find out

I do as I get plenty of 'hi I love your blog, buy some pr0n, pills, casino etc', but this one got past it. Not happy with that!
