I put in a router for someone about five years ago, and it has worked flawlessly from day one, maybe the odd reboot now and then.
I recently upgraded it to an n-class router for greater reach, but had enormous trouble getting it to keep a connection. I tried loads of different settings and upgraded the firmware on the laptop wireless card, and it has settled down, but still disconnects at least once a week.
My friend is happy with that on the whole, but now reports that she can't copy files to DVD through windows (Vista), DVD Maker, NTI CD & DVD maker or Nero.
I took the laptop home and made five DVDs in a row without a problem, so tok it back. As soon as she tried to make a DVD, it errors.
I'm just wondering if there's some interference in the house that could affect both these devices.
