Intergrated Graphics Question

Sorry if this sounds really daft but since I don't know the answer:

Motherboards designed to work with Ivy and the like, which "support" intergrated graphics and have the DVI, VGA ports etc. Do they need a CPU with Intergated graphics to work or is there a seperate graphics chip on the motherboard?

This is for a build for someone at work, it needs to be a cheap setup, I am thinking this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-384-IN

I don't want to buy a discrete card as its just for office work.

Quoted from the motherboard link:

Graphics - Supports Intel® HD Graphics Built-in Visuals : Intel® Quick Sync Video 2.0, Intel® InTru™ 3D, Intel® Clear Video HD Technology, Intel® Insider™, Intel® HD Graphics 2500/4000 with Intel® Ivy Bridge CPU
- Supports Intel® HD Graphics Built-in Visuals : Intel® Quick Sync Video, Intel® InTru™ 3D, Intel® Clear Video HD Technology, Intel® HD Graphics 2000/3000, Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) with Intel® Sandy Bridge CPU

It's on the CPU.

thanks, I saw that but couldn't make out if it was exclusively on the cpu. All that rubbish InTru this, AVX that means nothing to me.

Anyhow, i missed it before but the Pentium CPU has a GPU too which I didn't realise so I will be Ok.

Ah, I see. I thought you had the CPU listed as if you knew the GPU was integrated and were going to buy it if the motherboard didn't have the GPU integrated. Confusing I know but good news :).
