Intergrating a media player and an Image gallery within a webpage?

As per thread title, how would I go about embedding a media player? An example would be, say I click on on mp3 file, it would play the file within the embedded player.

How would I create a simple gallery? Iv tried looking at coppermine and similar and it's not going well

I'm very new at websites, so be gentle
