I have the following currently which has served me pretty well but is beginning to chug a little.
I'd like to look at some small cost effective upgrades to improve performance while I let the whole Vista/Dual Core/DX10 scenario settle down - I game only on my PC and would ideally like to drive a widescreen monitor on games like 2142.
I'm not going to spend £3/400 - ideally I'll probably buy from the MM here.

Current Rig:
Skt 939 AMD Fx51, MSI K8n Neo Platinum, 2*1Gb Geil 3200 Cas 3 on Dual Channel, 2*6800GT in SLI, 1*74Gb Raptor, 2*120Gb Maxtor, running under WinXp Thermaltake 680w PSU

Cheers

TBH your current rig isn't bad at all (considerably better than mine!). I'd personally save some more money and build a C2D/8800 system from scratch in a few weeks/months.

Resurrecting this thread as I am getting a small-ish bonus.
I would like to buy a 22" widescreen monitor - something like the LG on offer at OCUK now - thats about £200.
I've been looking at either a 7950GT or GTX2 for £100 -£150ish (second hand) and then upgrading to a higher spec single core 939 - even brand new a 4000 San Diego is only £65 - so hopefully I could source a cheaper s/h one.
The monitor will obviously be an investment whatever I do in the future, but for £200 or less I'm hoping that I can give a nice boost to my gaming. With a single card with dual DVI I could also potentially drive 2 monitors - would I be able to do widescreen gaming on one while using my "old" 1280*1024 screen for monitoring teamspeak/xfire/other apps?

All advice/thoughts appreciated.
Cheers

Imho...Dont upgrade anything until your ready for a new rig.

But on the monitor front go for the Samsung 22", i know its over your budget of 200 but its well worth the extra.
