I phoned BT last week to ask them to turn interleaving off my adslmax because since i upgraded to max my ping to game servers has increased 50% , so they obliged and now i get very slow download speeds on bittorrent , http download speeds are fine but BT speeds barely go above 50kbps even on very well seeded torrents

It was fine before i had interleaving switched off , so is this the cause or simply coincidence ?

Interleaving won't affect torrenting at all, so it's irrelevant.

Ok , kinda stumped to what it might be then , ive been using both bittornado and utorrent and both seem very slow compared to the speeds i normally get :(

I'd take a wild guess that BT may employ some form of traffic shaping. Try enabling encryption and see if anything improves.

If HTTP downloads are running at full speed (or higher than 50k), then it's probably shaping that's the cause.

So that would be protocol encryption on utorrent ? ive got that enabled along with 'allow incoming legacy connections'
