Evening all,

My parents 206 had its last major service done at 40,000 miles and its next one is due at 60,000. However in the service record book there is a space for an ‘intermediate’ service between these two (at 50,000 which the car has now reached).

From what I can tell this only involves checking and toping up engine oil, screen wash and coolant. Seems a bit pointless to take the car down to Peugeot to pay to get this done? However if it isn’t done there will be a gap in the service history.

I thought that they could take it to a local garage to get this done, but again it seems a bit pointless to pay someone to check these things and give it the ‘official’ ok in the service log?

Any advice? Cheers.

I have a copy of the peugeot servicing guide and for the category 'drain and refill oil' there is no tick in the intermediate service box though...

Most places (Independent Garage) would charge for the oil etc. but would check the other bits in the price. Worth keeping the service book up to date for future selling points. Doesn't KwikFit now do servicing of oil etc??. Also I believe they can stamp the book as well. Maybe a cheaper option but obviously check first.
