intermittant freezes

Hi, today my system has developed intermittent freezing, about every 10-30 seconds I'll get a 1-3 second freeze. mouse will stop, keyboard commands delayed, audio skip and video skip.

Any ideas?

Could be a hard drive issue.

Goto start > Search for CMD, right click and run as Administrator.

then type in

chkdsk /r

See if that flags up anything to start with.

scheduled scandisk and restarted.
How will i know if it found any errors?

Click Start > Run (Or Windows Key and the "R" key) and type eventvwr and hit Enter. On the left hand pain expand Windows logs. Right click on Application and click "Find" and type Chkdsk.
