My PC has been running fine for 2 years but recently when cold booting my system doesn't power on at all.

The internal power button is illuminated on mobo but no fans run...

This is intermittent and after a bit of switching on and off it eventually boots.

Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

Cheers

Sounds like the power supply may be on the way out.

Do you have another one you can borrow to see if it fixes the problem?

I was thinking it was that as well but have nothing concrete..

Unfortunately I don't have access to another PSU.... its a Corsair 850 AX and I think it has a 7 years warranty on it....

I am not sure what I should do? How can I get it replaced/fixed under warranty if im not 100% sure its the PSU?

Thanks for your help....

I would bite the bullet and buy another one, something cheap-ish to see if it fixes the problem. If it does then send the unit back for repair. That way you'll always have a spare PSU and you won't lose any computer time waiting for it to be sorted.

List your spec and we can find a PSU that will do for now.

GByte GA-Z77X-UD3H Z77 MoBo
Intel Core i5 3570K s1155
8GB 2x4GB CML8GX3M2A1600C9 LP
850W CORSAIR AX PSU
2GB GByte GTX670 Windforce
2 SSD Drives

Sounds like a good idea, but if it isn't the PSU I will have 2 PSUs :D
