Intermittent Connectivity issues

Hi everyone

I've got a couple of questions to ask that I'm hoping might help me diagnose an issue I am having with my PC. I have a wireless network adaptor connecting me to the internet and it was all working fine until recently.

I purchased 6 new fans and a new graphics card that I installed which effectively completed my build. Since then, I've been having intermittent connectivity issues, not being able to get online. I run the usual diagnostics which often resolves the issue for it only to drop out again almost immediately.

So, my question is this: as this issue only started happening after I installed the new fans and graphics card, is there any likelihood that this is connected? I'm a bit of a novice and this was my first PC build, so my apologies if this sounds like a dumb question, but could it somehow be that the new gpu and fans are using too much power for my power supply which is causing the network card to be impacted?

I have turned my fans to the low setting and everything is working okay for the time being but I don't know if that is purely a coincidence or if it could be a power supply issue.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is the wireless network card a PCI card or a USB wireless adaptor?

If its a PCI wifi card I would take the card out and put it back in again just to make sure it was not knocked when the fans\gpu where installed.

If its a USB wireless adaptor then I would make sure that USB selective suspend is disabled and reboot then monitor the issue

What make and watt is the PSU your currently using? also how old is it?

Cheers for the reply. It is a PCI Wifi card - I'll do as you suggest and remove/reinsert it to see if that helps.

The PSU is an Aerocool Cylon 700w 80+ psu which I bought new from Amazon around January. I've been told on here before the PSU isn't that great so I just thought that might've been the issue.

Would be worth keeping the psu in mind, what gpu did you get as I just noticed I never asked.

If you want to check its a psu issue maybe switch to an on board gpu ( if you have one) and remove the new gpu and also worth making sure you got the most up to date driver for the WiFi card and not let windows install them as it could be out of date

I got an RTX2060, upgraded from a 1660 Super. No on board gpu unfortunately but I'll check the drivers!
