Hi,

I'm having an issue with my service from Grain Connect, hoping someone can offer some help.

Been with grain since April and I've had a few issues with static IP which got resolved eventually but now I'm left with a connection that's having issues.

I'm running in bridge mode with my own mesh (Google mesh pro)

I did have tplink xe75 pro but grain said it was causing an issue so I got Amazon to accept the return and tried Google hoping that my problem would go away but it hasn't.

With the XE Pro 75 I'd got a total loss of service till I'd reboot the grain modem, with the Google mesh my connection drops so slow I can't browse the web again I have to reboot the grain modem (this doesn't always fix the issue)

I've got a TBB monitor setup which shows high latency during the times I have an issue, normally lasts up to 10mins.

Strangely upload isn't affected.

If I run a speed test during the issues I'll get 0.1Mbps and 900 upload if I select a random sever on speedtest.net

If I run a speedtest and select the grain server I actually get full upload and download when I'm having the issues. (Web pages hardly loading streaming services don't work)

Any ideas what would cause this and why it's only affecting downloads and not uploads?

I should have said in my first post.

To use my own router I needed to provide them with the router mac address via phone and email so I can't just swap back when I wish, they also dont provide access to the modem to change modes.

The problem happens probably every 2 days but has happened across two router brands.

I guess I'd have to ask them to set the SSID to what I use and see if the problem happens using their own gear however I really should be able to use my own problem free.

Sounds like it's their side if you tried 2 brands maybe their equipment? You need to rule that out first. I have Grain and Xe75 Pros and have no issues with them. I originally had an Orbi rbk50 and also worked fine with a static IP. When upgraded to the xe75pro I just used the Mac clone feature.

I get weird results with speed test.net, I never really max the download but always the upload. However, if I use an app like Steam or ea play I can max the 900 Mb.

Since my last post I've spoke with a friend who lives around an hour away who's also on grain and he's seeing the same issues :/ 3 day sla on tech support.

He never used to have the problem untill recently.

Hi, if you are still having this issue and could send me your account ID or order number via PM, I will have my Tech and Networks team take a look into this tomorrow for you.
