As per title folks.

It started about a month ago. It powers up first time if I leave it off for about 12 hours, but if I do a cold restart it doesn't want to know. I've tried it with 3 boards & it does the same with all of them. :( Paperclip test was OK & the board standby lights power up too.

The PSU is this one

Its just over 3 years old, I didn't buy it from here (Competitor) I've contacted them about whether they deal with the RMA or if I need to go direct to Seasonic,

My question is - will Seasonic reject the RMA if they test it & find it to be working without checking my findings on it?

I won't be happy if they do, I dropped over a hundred notes on this PSU on the strength of its reviews (It got a ton of good ones)

Thoughts please?

OK Stulid, I'll try & explain in detail of what it is doing right now.

I've done the usual minimum build to test before it in the case. (1 stick of ram, cooler fitted, both ATX power leads connected) It has started a couple of times.

I turn it off at the power switch on the PSU & unplug it in order to put the motherboard in the case.

Reconnect & it doesn't work. Try it again with another board & it doesn't start either. Only if I leave the PSU for a few hours (overnight) it may start once. When I cut the power & attempted restart no activity, even though the onboard power switch lights up on the Z97 & the Z87 replacement.

I've done this with the Z97 board I bought from you & another Z87 board, which I obtained because I assumed the original Z87 board I bought from you was faulty. I don't think the original Z87 board is faulty now, so there's no need to sort out that RMA for me now at the moment, not that I've heard from gigabyte support anyway.

It will be a pain to leave the PC with this PSU in standby, I like to turn off all my hardware at night. No issue with my other PSU (Seasonic G series)

I've just got round to sending seasonic an email. No idea if seasonic will send a direct replacement as the 560 is no longer made. I read elsewhere that they may charge an 'upgrade fee' for the same range of PSU (higher wattage) I've no intention of paying that, so would they send be a lesser model FOC?

/\/\/\/\ Corsair have been a bit of a mixed bag with me. I've owned 5 & 2 failed (Both HX) Seasonic on the other hand up until now have been flawless.

I must say though, the replies from their support have been very quick. I've got the RMA already, I've got to post it to a UK home address. I can only assume its the residence of the Seasonic UK rep. They want the proof of purchase sent with it, I presume a copy will be enough?

Well they must've confirmed the old one was faulty, I sent it off last week & the replacement has turned up, A brand new X650!

RESULT!

:D

Thing is, do I keep it or put it on the MM? I don't really want to rewire my pc's back up again (I've got a G Series 550 in one & a Superflower HX550 in the other)
