Internal audio extension cable

I have bought a internal audio extension cable as the one that comes with the case doesn't reach the motherboard however this extension cable only has 7 pins whereas the one in my case has 9 pins on the connector?

There's a difference between 'AC97' and 'HD Audio', the latter having more pins.

So, your cable may not work.

I have messaged the seller and he said it is only a extension cable so it works with HD audio and AC97.

OCUK sell that cable as well. It also only has 7 pins and does HD and AC97.
