It was only yesterday i was asking about external harddrives that today my Intel HDD has died completely :(

A while back i have been "Moaning" about my computer freezing, odd sounds and it looks like the HDD was at fault, prety much same time last year.

The HDD is a seagate 500GB which has passed away so i am looking for a replacement (same size) preferably faster running if its possible.

I have been looking at hte samsung spinpoint F3, would this be a good buy?

Thanks

Lies essentially. It's not as fast as 7200 rpm drives.

I thought the F3 had good read and write times, but poor seek times. Might need to check that though.

Its alive :D

Now have the samsung F3 installed and its noticable faster than my old drive especially when installing windows 7.

Nice purchase and would reccomend it to anyone and to stay away from seagate :P

the last 2 harddrives i have had from them died under half a year :(

i now have to go through the process of sending the old one off again which took me a week or 2 to get one back last time :(
