Hey guys, girls and those yet undecided,

Was wondering which solution would be the best in this situation.

I have a four year old Inspiron 5160 which unfortunately came without wireless technology and I'm only now getting around to upgrading it. I was wondering what your opinions would be on the best piece of hardware to get.

Linksys Wireless G Notebook Adapter

or

Intel Pro Wireless LAN

Prices are about the same for the both of them with the intel card having the benefit of wireless N technology and the internal aspect whereas the linksys has similarly priced models with either rangebooster or speedbooster which I would consider getting over the standard model. I'm mostly concerned with the best performance to power usage as this will be used in a laptop.

Also, anyone with experience of either of these two products, what are your thoughts on them?

If it's four years old, odds are the 4965AGN wouldn't work - for one you won't have the three antennae you need for N to work at its best.

He speaks the truth (as usual) it's only a twin from what I remember. If you want N it's going to be USB or PCMCIA. Also that internal card is PCIe not Mini PCI wich I believe your laptop has ...

you can get an intel mini pci wireless g internal adapter, I fitted one to my 3 year old toshiba laptop, and it works very well. I used to have one of those external pcmi wireless adapters, but it used to annoy me sticking out the side of the laptop
