Hiya,
Don't suppose anyone has seen anything like this before?
I've got various files with Japanese characters in the filename, stored on the server (Ubuntu 7.04). The Windows box can access & sees these fine, replacing the unknown characters with its standard thingy, but the laptop (Mandriva Cooker) simply doesn't see them full-stop. Copying them across to the laptop, the filenames stay 100% the same, locales, installed charsets etc. are also completely the same across the two systems. Cooker shouldn't be affecting things here; I know it can cause some odd bugs, but Samba simply isn't something that should have anything like this happen to it- Its definitely not bleeding edge
Garbled filenames I could accept as simply an incompatibility somewhere, but the files simply not showing I just can't explain.
Anyway, thoughts please.
