Bah I hit the T :p

I'll leave it there and not ninja edit :p

To be fair my miss spelling will end up more entertaining than the friendlies themselves.

There could be no football for a decade...and I still; wouldn't be desperate enough to watch England

+1.

I would much prefer a club World Cup every four 4 years and get rid of international football. Completely uninterested, in fact I'm as interested as the players and have the same priorities as the players (so its bottom of my list)

England squad:

Goalkeepers: Ben Foster, Joe Hart, Alex McCarthy.

Defenders: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Joleon Lescott, Kyle Walker.

Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Rodwell, Theo Walcott.

Forwards: Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck.

Goody I really do like hearing anti-IRA chants aimed at a bundle of people who have stopped caring about that. Nearly as good television as England playing international games.

For ***** sake I wish they would leave our players out of it & at least give them a bit of rest after playing 70+ games in a season.
All for the same **** as usual as well, either we win the matches & Yay we will win the next World Cup or we lose & it didn't matter as we were trying different things out.

Complete load of ****, Waste of our players time & a waste of TV time as well.

On the subject of chants, just got this in an email:

England fans are rightly renowned for their passionate backing of the Three Lions wherever and whenever the team plays, at home or abroad. With this next match coming in the middle of half-term week, it promises to be a great family occasion and everyone in the stadium should be able to enjoy it.

Ahead of the Ireland fixture, on behalf of The FA, I would like to ask our supporters to please respect our opponents and welcome them in the right way. Wembley is considered the world over as the home of football and we ask those attending to not take part in any chanting - particularly of a religious or political perspective – which could cause offence to our visitors or fellow fans.

As we mark 150th anniversary of The FA this year, we have been reminded of the greats who wore the Three Lions with pride - the likes of Billy Wright, Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton to name but a few.

All were renowned for their sporting spirit and were rightly respected the world over. Just like our incredible fans. So once again, we ask you to show your support for our England team and make Wednesday's atmosphere one to remember for everyone.

That email can be summed up with "DON'T MENTION THE WAR"

Given that the last game we played (1995 Dublin) with the ROI ended in a riot it's not really surprising and with the fuss of the chanting at the Montenegro match good behaviour is expected from all at this one.

Ashley Cole will captain England tonight as a celebration of his 100th cap which he will receive tonight.

I cant see how this would work (although its a nice idea)

As soon as the UCL finishes, a few weeks later the same squads get back together to do it all again (admittedly with youthful South American flair , etc etc added in )

Would it really "add" anything apart from making scouting a little easier potentially?

Friendlies aren't exactly exciting admittedly, except for maybe when a new international player comes on board, and from a club perspective you are interested to see how he does.

Of course Im sure there would be a lot more interest if England were actually any good to start with.......

edit - half -term week? Isnt it the summer holidays?
