internet cables for gig switch??

hi guys

i got a switch the other day for my computer laptop and xbox all of this stuff has GB ports will the leads effect speed in any way?

if so what you recomend

Cat5e cables will be fine.

Over short distances most cables will be fine, also the Xbox/Xbox 360 doesn't support gigabit ethernet.

Or, get a reel of cat5e cable, connectors and an RJ45 Crimper and make them to your custom length, much cheaper in the long run.

Also don't buy Belkin garbage. Maybe their cables are ok, I wouldn't know. Everything else they make is pretty terrible though.

If you want to get gigabit speeds between the lappy and the PC then it will have to be CAT5e cables or CAT 6.

Belkin network cables are fine, there is little you can do wrong with a simple cable, they are normally quite cheap. They have anti-snag hoods or bumpers fitted to the connectors which is handy when pulling them out of a rats nest.

Belkin are fine for cables. A little expensive but good. It is nothing like their routers or wireless crap.

cool ok well will get the belkins then one for pc and one for laptop leave 360 on the cable it came with as it dont have gb port
