Hi, i turned my computer ontoday to get a "network connection has limited or no connectivity" icon after it workingfine since i built my PC months ago. Other PC'son the same network are working fine which is odd. I've tried repairing, uplugging, restarting, a different network card, a USB to ethernet converter. None of which have worked :(
I also tried re-setting it to auto find IP, and also chenged the IP to what it normally is which also didn'twork.

I'm about to try a program called WinSock XP which i dont trust at all but is the only thing i managed to get off google that might work. Before i try that is there anything else that might work?

Many thanks

Assuming it's wired, have you tried a working machine on the port that the machine that isn't working is on (and vice versa)?

Tried three different cables and none have worked :(

It's all on a wired router. Swapped the ports of the working and non-working PC's and it still worked on the working and didn't on mine.

It seems to have spread onto my 2nd PC so i'm now reduced to using the family PC.

Possibly a virus? Or the only other thing i can think of that has changed was a windows update (small, didn't require a reboot), so again a virus, lol.

Anything else i could try, this app i said before "WinSock XP" has anyone used or know of an app that fixes corrupt network files in windows (am on XP pro by the way).

Thanks

Tried that app with no success.

Is really getting on my nerves that i can't do anything about it. Could it be to do witht he Win XP update? And if so how do i go about backtracking?

You say you still have 1 PC that still works. If that is still correct open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all from the working pc and a non working pc and paste it here for comparison.

Rang up a friend who is GOD on computers and pretty much the first thing he said was to restard the router - which worked :) feel kind of silly it was something so simple, didn't expect it to be a problem.

Again, thanks for you help you gave me
