I have 2 laptops, both of which are wirelessly connected to a router, there is also a wired PC that goes into the router, which workes fine. Of the two laptops, one of them is fine and connects and works no problem, but the other one says "Limited or no connectivity", I understand that this is, perhaps a problem with the pc getting an IP from the DHCP on the router?

How do I go about making is get an IP? it is set to 'automatically obtain'.

On the latop that works the router IP is 10.0.10.254, is that a correct IP, i mean normally I am used to a 192.168.#.# ?

Is there a way i can resolve this issue? anything else that you need to know?

Thanks

Hello KerPlunk,

The easiest thing to do would be to mimic the connections from the working laptop to the one that doesn't connect.

Go through the network settings and make sure they match.

There are private IP addresses which are given to home / office computers as not to conflict with the Internet. These are Class A, B and C.

This will explain why the router is using the address it is. Google for it.

Other than that, you may need to provide more information.

Regards

Andrew.
