Just set up my new Netgear Router/Modem and now I cant set up internet connection sharing over my Ad-Hoc wireless network. Whenever I try and share the connection it tells me:
Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled
A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing
Any ideas of a way around it? I can even draw a little diagram if you dont understand what I mean

Bought the wired router in error and because nothing is wrong with it the shop wont take it back.
considering selling it on if i cant get this to work although it would be nice if I could get it to work since I dont have wireless cards in any other PC in the house (besides the two in the diagram)

Couldn't you just get a cheap access point for the router?

Eitha

1. Get a cheap access point.
2. Go back to ICS.
3. Get a Wireless router.

EDIT: I think that error message is saying to you that PC2 (MAMS PC) Has the same address as the router address. Thus change the address on your mams pc to a different one.

i had a look at the access points and they all cost more than i paid for the router. might sell the router on and get a wireless router.
dont really want to go back to the ICS because it means my PC has to be on at the same time as my mums, never a good thing if she comes home late one night while im asleep wanting to go on msn
