What do I put for marital status? I was married for 11 years, have been divorced for 4 years and have had a 2.5 year relationship in that time which is now over.

Am I still 'divorced' or am I 'single'?

Divorced? Obviously?

What is classed as divorced if you aren't?

I got married four years ago and am still married. We had kids 2 and a half years ago. Does this make me married, or in a relationship?

FAIL.

FAIL.

It's not obvious at all or I wouldn't have asked.

I thought perhaps after a period of time one could be considered 'single'. If that's not the case then I shall continue to label myself accordingly.

Put single as if women can search on the criteria, single will be the default option and they aren't going to change it to look for divorced men.

If you want to be more honest, write it on your profile, perhaps even ask the same question, I hear women love talking so will no doubt mail you to give their stupid opinions on it.

Putting divorced probably has negative connotations compared to just "single".

I dunno, depends a bit how old you are. The OP is 34 and I don't think there is any harm in sticking himself down as divorced. Apart from anything else it shows he's not some loner freak who's never had a serious relationship, which is pretty much expected of people in their 30s.

Single, you aren't in relationship.

Divorce is your history, being single is your present situation. You're looking for someone to spend your future with, not dwell over the past.

Saying you're single doesn't automatically disallow you to mention you've been divorced does it?

Just remember when making your profile name not to forget the second P in rapper. I doubt you'd get much interest then.
