Somewhere between 11pm and the early hours for the past 3 days, my internet connection has decided to cripple itself and revert to seemingly sub-56k speeds. This has never happened before, and so is a bit odd!

In trying to diagnose whether the issue lies within or outside my home network, I ran a simple Traceroute, which yielded the following:

Code:
Traceroute has started…

Would this seem to suggest a Virgin Media network problem, or am I reading this wrong?

Well according to the technician on the phone, the problem is with my modem, so they're sending me a new one. I'm skeptical, but we'll see...

Oh, and to add insult to injury, my VM phone line went dead this morning. Called up and they said their diagnostics would seem to indicate the line has been cut somewhere. Joy..
