internet disconnects after joining a game

hey, well i just built a pc for my friend, everything is going good but everytime he joins a game after a few mins his internet disconnects. this only happens when he's in game so what you think the problem is?

If using Punkbuster- make sure it's fully up to date

Yeah, run the manual updater from the Punkbuster wedsite anyway just to make sure (Assuming the games are punkbuster protected).

whats his setup? adsl/cable, does he use a router and how old is it.

I had an old belkin router some time ago that used to disconnect me as it couldnt handle too many connections.
