Internet Does Not Work From 2pm Every Day!

Hi,

Not sure if anyone can help, but I'm having the most strange problem.

Since about a week ago, whenever I switch my computer on (usually around 2pm), there is no internet. It simply just does not work. However if I switch the computer off and go out, by the time I get back (Around 8), the internet is working fine again (and nothing has been changed).

Sometimes at around 2pm, the internet will work slightly, meaning it go's at around 0.1 bytes per second. The google logo takes around 40 mins to load. It is rare that it works at all though. This has happened every day at exactly the same time for the past week. I thought I had a faulty ethernet cable, however have since bought a new one and the problem is still the same.

Has anyone got any ideas, as this is driving me crazy. I am with Virgin 2mb if that helps - been with them for years with no problems.

My router is Dell Trumobile 2300. When you say monitoring software, what do you mean? Can you give an example of a program which may help, that is free?

Hi,

I've rebooted the modem and connected the internet directly to the computer, and the problem is still the same. I phoned Virgin today, and an engineer is coming out this week. I hope its the cable modem that's the problem - if so they say they will change it. I just don't understand why its at exactly the same time every day - especially as it works at night.

I'll let you know what happens,
