Internet Explorer 6 running slow on NT4 pc

I’ve installed Internet Explorer 6 on an old NT4 machine (600mhz & 320mb RAM). This machine has run IE6 before, and was plenty quick enough, but with this reinstall it’s taking 30-60 seconds from one page/site to the next.

Any ideas?

Is DNS resolving fine from the command line? What happens to CPU when changing pages?

LOL... OMG IRQ conflict and hardware installation nightmares.... argh the pain!!!!

I used to dual boot Windows 9x and NT4 though. NT4 for when I actually wanted to be productive and not throw the PC out the window after it crashing for the umpteenth time.

Yeah but we moved on since then

I'd at least install Windows 2000. On that spec PC it will run very nicely

I stayed on W2K Pro for years and refused to upgrade to XP until about a year ago. One of MS's best OSs IMO
