I am using Windows 7 at work, and need to downgrade the browser from IE 9 to IE 6 as the application (in-house) is only compatible with IE 6 or something so need to know, is this even possible on a Windows 7 machine?

Any help would be appreciated before I go ahead and just do it :)

If that doesn't work then what edition of windows 7 do you use? If it's pro you can download a free XP VM and see ie6 as a virtual app which can be started like a normal application from the start menu.

there's a lot of corporate software out there that still needs xp/ie6, that's the reason microsoft put xpmode in windows 7 pro and above. Businesses move a lot slower to upgrade software platforms.
