I have an issue with a machine running IE7 and Windows Xp SP2

The machines network connectivity is fine. I can ping addresses, connect to UNC share etc but Internet Explorer simply refuses to load any pages and hangs on "Waiting for XXXX"

If i use Firefox, theres no problem, the Web loads with no problems.
This means the issue is IE7

I have tried:

*Reinstalling IE7
*Running Adaware
*Running Spybot
*Deleting Temp File + Internet Files

Any ideas to track down where the issue is?

i don't have IE7 (no point :p)

but try this..

Tools
Internet Options
Connections(tab)
Lan Settings

tick the 'Auto' box, or untick it if it's ticked

close IE, try again..

Is it your home machine?
are you using a proxy server?
do you have a 3rd party software firewall / security suite installed which might be blocking it?
do you have any third party plugins installed in IE?

Not my home machine (but is someone elses)
No proxy
There are some other security things installed (windows defender, pc helper)
Ive removed all 3rd party plugins
