Internet Explorer ffs

Hi all,

Can anyone explain why why http://www.k1n.dsl.pipex.com/site/webdev/

is displying correctly in Mozilla but not in IE6 (version 6.0.2900.2180) (the menu stuff on the left seems to be pushed to the right). Any help very veyr appreciated.

Also im aware the html doesn't validate yet. On a side there are 50 odd validation errors purely due to the ads (at the top of the html code) that are put on automatically by lycos

not realy helping you with your question but just had to ask why in the hell have you created a scrollbar in the div :confused:

it looks stupid and un-natural on my laptop and even worse on my dell 24".

I'd take it out and just use the browsers own scrollbar tbh.

Looking at the sourcecode, I'd say its been injected server-side by lycos.

This creates basically screws the page, it will be very tricky to get a fully working layout as the doctype is being pushed down the page preventing browsers from going into standards rendering mode.

If your serious about your webpage (and it looks like you are) I'd get a proper webhost. If you try and fix it while the website is in querks mode you will have to redo your efforts if/when (hopefully when

) you move it to a proper host.

don't remember doing this. Can you point out exactly where you mean?

Also, supposed my isp hostiong is betetr too, so updated the link to this:

I can't see one either. Looking good tho. There are a couple of small things I'd look at. First under "ONLINE LEAGUES" I'd look at improving the contrast between the text and the background.

yer was just messing about there. was mainly aiming to get it to validate tbh

Whether it validates is not the be all and end all to be honest. I always code with opera, ie and firefox open to check everything looks right. When it's looking good, it should also be pretty much perfect in terms of validity. Then you can sharpen up the finer points which the validator will inform you of.
