"Windows explorer has stopped working" - how to fix

Seems to be connected to windows update not working correctly.
Can anyone provide a step by step guide on how to fix?

So IE crashes and Windows update doesn't work for you? What version of Windows are you running?

What sort of error does Windows update pop up with? It should have an error code.

Just reset it via internet options in the control panel, that will usually sort it, if not re-install the latest version.

I even tried to reconfirm it with "So IE..." and he said yes
