Internet Explorer headed for Xbox - report

DO NOT WANT. I'm sorry but I don't want all this multirole nonsense. I want a video games console and nothing else.

The more things they put on the better. It helps sell consoles.

I like to be able to watch programmes such as SUAM and the watch, also using 4OD and other catch up channels is great. I wouldn't want to go back to having just a console for games when you get all the extras for free.

It is getting to the point where it isn't about "what to consume" rather "which device to consume it on", smart TVs with TVOD built in, consoles with TVOD built in, that platform which shall not be named in this subforum with TVOD as a bolt in, portable devices with TVOD apps that can be flipped to a smart TV which has TVOD.....and so on.

Would be handy if you can load up guides for difficult achievements while your playing a game.

Where does it stop though? Will Microsoft Office be next?

Don't use it then? As long as i'm able to find what i want to use easily and the dash doesn't get too cluttered then i'm happy.

Just because some people don't like certain things it doesn't mean thousands of others don't.

Personally I couldn't care less, it'll be painful to use with a pad and I don't have Kinect. It's a pure novelty and not necessary at all, especially if it's anything like the terrible PS3 browser.

I can imagine eventually it'll be a bit easier to mod the box, navigate to a webpage that breaks out of IE's sandbox, installs a few patches here and there and bingo, wallhacks from a website or piracy via php.

I've probably used the PS3 browser about 5 times in 3 years. Now I have an Ipad, I can't see why I would ever use it. It wasn't that long ago that most households only had a desktop PC that was capable of browsing the net.

lol. OMG MORE FEATURES, HOW DARE MICROSOFT.

The only problem I have with microsoft is the amount of adverts they have implemented, And that even if you have a gold account they're still there.

As for releasing optional features, Why on earth would anyone be able to see a problem there o.O Weirdos

Yes I know that, I'm not stupid but regardless of which department does what, it's still Microsoft. They're not pushing games for the core players as much, not compared to the original XBOX or the 360's early days. Look how many first party devs they had and now many new IP's back in the day. Instead they're pushing Kinect and 'Apps' and 'features'. It's a shame but all the major console manufactures are going that way these days. XBOX Live Arcade and PSN seems to be where it is at for unique gameplay.
