OEMs will bundle a browser anyway and most people who buy an upgrade/retail version will be smart enough to install one.

I never use IE, but think it's stupid. EU gone mad. As already said - how do apple get away with Safari being bundled on macs?

I'd be happy to get IE8 on windows but the option of uninstalling it.

the EU expected MS to bundle other browsers they didn't expect them throw its toys out of the pram.
apple can bundle safari because they don't have 90%+ of the market share MS does.

They should not expect them to bundle 3rd party stuff at all. It is opinion only, but I believe that a company should have the right to put whatever it wants with its products.

The consumer can then choose to go to mac. Apple is doing the monopoly thing too, to a lesser extent. Meh, still the conversation could go round in circles.

This is all just ridiculous. For some reason, the EU has it in for Microsoft. It's ludicrous that MS can't bundle their own browser with their own OS. And that's coming from someone who despises IE.

Should really have been bundled but not installed - users can choose to install it from additional components in add/remove like the terminal services client etc.

I only use IE to download firefox then set it as default
