Hey guys,

I recently done a full rebuild of my main machine and I’ve got a strange problem with Internet Explorer 6 :(

Basically, I can’t change the Home Page? I like to set it to the default address of my router – but no matter why I try, it always goes back to the default Windows one, MSN or whatever it is?

I’m using XP Pro and I’ve downloaded all the updates etc – so everything is up to date ;)

Any ideas?

Cheers,

SW.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I've already looked at that site actually? But I was put off by the fact that it hadn't been updated in 3 years

It's still not sorted though? I was hoping it was going to be a simple fault with a simple fix :(

Just have to use Firefox for everything I suppose...

Cheers ;)

I’m on my second installation now and I’m still no further? Well actually this time I managed to change the home page on the first boot, for the purposes of experiment, to ‘google.co.uk’ and it worked but after installing all the Windows updates, I’m back where I started? Unable to change the home page!

Has anyone else got any experience of this or rebuilt they’re machines in the last couple of days or so and used the Microsoft updates?

It’s starting to annoy me now, and I don’t have time for another 600GB format :(

Is there any way of ‘hard’ resetting IE or anything else I can try?

I’ve always got the solution to my problems whenever I’ve posted here, please don’t fail me now :D

Cheers,

SW.

Turned out to be a Zone Alarm problem...

Version 6.5+

Uninstalled it and the problem went?

Just thought I'd let you all know ;)
