Internet Explorer takes so long to open?

My PC is nothing like a slouch (x2 3800, 2GB RAM) but for some reason I've noticed Internet Explorer taking a while to open.

Happens when I boot up the PC or when I haven't been on the net for a while, like when I exit a game or something.

Surely 20 seconds to open Internet Explorer is abit ridiculous for a PC like this? Any possible solutions?

What version of IE are you using?

Also do you have any 3rd party extensions installed like yahoo toolbar or similar?

If you go in Tools > Internet options > select the "Advanced" tab, and under the category "Browsing" there should be a check box labeled "Enable third party browser extensions". If you uncheck that box and try restarting it, as it is possibly a problem with an extenstion.
