Hi not sure if this is the correct place to post so here goes anyway
I’m trying to hard wire my garage to play fire stick on tv I’ve got the cable run up cat 5e plugged into router in house, what do I need the other end, I have a tplink Wi-Fi extender but stick saying house Wi-Fi out of range???? Any help muchly appreciated

If you just want to connect the stick to the cable then search for "Ethernet adaptor for Fire TV"

You need something to plug the other end into
Does the extender have an ethernet port?
Or just wifi?
Could just use an old router as an access point
If got one laying around
Yes it does have Ethernet port but still doesn’t seem to pick it up? Would I then use the tp link extender password or the router password?

I guess it would depend
If its got an ethernet port in or out
Ie cable from router goes into it then WiFi comes out of it
Compared to WiFi from router is picked up by
The extender which can then send it by ethernet cable to the device
If that makes sense
There's a difference between an extender/repeater
And an access point
Or some devices may be able to do both

Do you know the model number of it?
