At present, the router is downstairs and connected to it are Sky box, DVD player and the TV. The problem here is that it is not my possession, therefore I cannot simply disconnect all of these things (don't ask my why you need sky and the TV connected to the net when you ONLY watch tv through sky...and can view the rest on the computer >.>).
Anyway we do have an powerline adapter, Comtrend Powegrid DH-10PF, which is fine for general use. However I am concerned about my ms(Ping) when playing games. It doesnt seem that high, but is this powerline adapter poor? Would another more expensive powerline adapter reduce my ms?
Additionally, would it be better for me to have an additional line installed for 2 net connections within the house? (costs, benefits, possibility suggestions welcome)
I at present have not built my computer, and it may be 1 month before it is finished so it is not such an urgent issue for me to deal with, but fairly important.
I have a Netgear DGN3500. Would it be possible to prioritize MY connection?
any help on the subject I would be most great-full, however small the input
Thanks
