Taken from the Skunk2 website, some guy on a Civic forum accused them of ripping people off by selling 2.5" exhausts that were rounded up to 2.5, they disliked his allegations :P


It all started with an 8thcivic.com member and Skunk2 ’06+Civic Si header owner who “digitally measured” his header’s collector to a 2.395-inch ID and 2.435-inch OD. Ten pages later and it looked like the facts were in. Indeed, the evil and deceitful Skunk2 is guilty of “false advertising” and “rounds up” at the expense of innocent Civic Si owners. The general consensus was that Skunk2 also hates babies and puppies, pushes old people around, and has its headers made in sweatshops by children. Of course, do the math and for any of this to be true this guy’s K header would have to be made out of paper-thin metal—.020-inches, for all of you curious internet heroes. We’re doing cool things over here, but making headers so thin you could almost see through them isn’t one of them. Ultimately we had to head to the forum ourselves and school the e-tards with some basic math.

It’s unfortunate when “experts” jump online and accuse companies of false advertising and, before both sides are heard, the haters chime in with their bashing based on unconfirmed information. The truth’s been revealed but we’ve yet to hear back from the haters. And we don't expect to.

sounds like a load of rubbish. firstly its abuot tuning civics, secondly 0.1 of an inch on an exauhst

Part of me thinks it's funny that a corporate entity is replying in the same sort of tone as the people on the forum, the other part thinks they should perhaps be a little more professional about it. :)
 
I like the lack of professionalism for companies like this (in this manner, anyway). It allows the customer to relate, and feel they are receiving/will receive a personal service.

Far less "professional" people build houses ;)

I thought the same. They could have got their point over far better without the OMG OWNZ0RED E-TUNER INTERNET HERO rubbish.
 
The JDM 2.5" collector everyone goes on about isn't actually 2.5" ID anyway.

Is just the graphite/wire donut has an ID of 2.5" but goes on a double skin pipe.
 
Lol, comments on that board remind me of why I never bought a Honda. What a bunch of total jerks. Look at the skunk2 website where a poster called Gonzo wrongly assumed they were personally insulting him. What a total knob.

Hey don't tar all the Honda owners with the same brush :D, I suppose you like fighting with Holden fans and watching cars drive round in a circle for 500 laps like all Ford fans? :P

I have heard from internet experts that if I put a 2.5" collector header on my UKDM then I champagne will fall from the heavens, kelly brook will come a calling and I will gain 3bhp at peak rpm.

Nice one skunk 2. Reminds me of someone questioning the engineering of a concept 2 rower and the design of it bending in the the middle where the 2 parts attach. Concept 2 then send a photo of a load of rowers standing on one of the machines :D
