Afternoon all, not sure if this is the right place for this but couldnt really find anywhere more suitable, so here goes.

Since last thursday ive been having issues connecting my PC to the internet in my house, we have virgin broadband with the supplies netgear router. Every other device in the house connects fine, my phone, housemates laptop, his phone, the xbox etc, however when i try to connect my computer, it connects to the router fine on the wireless network, but then cant connect to the internet.

Ive ran a diagnostic test on my computer and its came up with ISP or DNS settings being at fault, but both of these are correct, and as i say, the other devices are connecting to the internet fine.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Kieran

DNS would be the first thing popping into my mind with those symptoms. How are you concluding that your DNS settings are correct?

Well, is the dns specific to each computer on the network or the router, ive set that to automatically retrieve from the Isp, which is working on every other device so there's no reason it shouldn't work on mine?

Assuming you are using Windows, can you paste the output from the following from a Command Prompt,
  • ipconfig /all
  • nslookup bbc.co.uk
  • ping -n 50 bbc.co.uk (maybe just the four lines of the ping statistics summary)
